Next to each of the Phone fields are four short fields for storing "Phone Keys". These "Phone Keys" describe the phone number as "home", "work", etc. The Dynodex application comes with pre-set phone keys for "auto", "beeper", "fax", "home", "modem", "telex", "work". You can add, modify, or remove these phone keys to suit your needs.
When printing, phone keys print just to the left of the phone numbers to which they refer. You can change this order if you want. (See "Field Setup" and "Field Options".)
"Phone Keys" work like any "Shorthand Key" (see "Shorthand Keys"). This means you need to type only the first letter to enter the complete "Phone Key" in the field. If you type a Phone Key that Dynodex doesn't recognize, it will accept whatever you type, up to 10 characters. Here you will have to choose from those that are defined, or you can add a new phone key or modify an existing one.
Note: All the layouts shipped with Dynodex are set so that only the first letter of each Phone Key field prints. You can change this by setting the "Max field length" value in "Field Options". (See "Field Options".)
